A serious assault on Wednesday morning on the Muscowpetung Saulteaux Nation has resulted in the arrest of a male suspect while an adult male victim was left with serious injuries.

According to a Saskatchewan RCMP news release, the Fort Qu’Appelle detachment received a report of a serious assault at about 6:05 a.m. Wednesday at a residence on the Muscowpetung Saulteaux Nation. The suspect male assaulted the victim with a weapon, according to the police investigation. Officers continued to investigate and arrested the suspect a short time later on the Muscowpetung Saulteaux Nation, while the victim was transported to hospital by STARS with injuries described as serious in nature. According to the news release, because the court information has not been sworn, the identity of the individual who was arrested cannot be released at this time.
