Two adults from Swift Current have been arrested and charged after methamphetamine was seized at a residence in Swift Current Tuesday.

Twenty-six-year-old Nickalaus Bedore and 32-year-old Farryn Schmidt are each charged with one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine and one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. Bedore is also charged with one count, operation while prohibited. Bedore and Schmidt were scheduled to appear in Swift Current Provincial Court today.

According to a Saskatchewan RCMP news release, Swift Current General Investigation Section (G-I-S) executed a search warrant at a residence on 11th Avenue Southeast in Swift Current as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. During a search of the residence, officers located and seized approximately 10 grams of methamphetamine and drug trafficking paraphernalia. Two individuals were arrested at the residence. Not long after, a third suspect, who police spotted driving while prohibited earlier on Tuesday, was located in an alley near 2nd Avenue Southeast and Central Avenue Southeast. As a result of investigation, the suspect, along with two additional individuals, were arrested in the alley. During the arrests, officers also seized knives that some of the individuals had in their possession. The other three individuals who had been arrested, aside from Bedore and Schmidt, were later released from police custody without charge.
