SIGA has closed all of it casinos for the next two weeks. It will re-assess the situation at that time. SIGA says this is in alignment with SaskGaming Casinos in Regina and Moose Jaw.
Lac La Ronge Indian Band is cancelling the advance poll scheduled for March 19th. There is an election scheduled for March 30th. A decision on whether or not that will go ahead will be made at a later date.
The Saskatoon Board of Police Commissioner has cancelled its regularly scheduled meeting. It was scheduled for March 19th. Chair Darlene Brander says, items from the March meeting will be moved forward to the next meeting however governance issues requiring immediate action will be addressed.
The Saskatoon YMCA is adding its name to the list of organizations that are closing down temporarily over COVID-19. This includes all health, fitness, and aquatics programs, the school-out day camp in April, before and after school programs, which also affects the Martensville Child Development Centre. All memberships have been placed on hold for the duration of the closure. Credit and refund details vary by program and will be communicate by individual business areas.
City of Saskatoon Leisure Centres, indoor rink facilities, outdoor rink buildings, golf courses and the Forestry Farm Park and Zoo are closed to the public.
Saskatoon’s Public Library locations are closed to the public.
Officials at the Saskatoon airport say they will be temporarily suspending the ValetXE parking service in an effort to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. The airport authority says in a release that they have activated their cleaning measures to the highest level. Sanitizers have also been installed at all check-in desks, gates, the info and ValetXE desks and the Saskatoon Shines booth.
