Manufacturing sales in Saskatchewan grew by 1.8 per cent between December and January. Statistics Canada says the national average was actually a decline of 0.2 per cent. Five provinces were in negative territory. Of the remaining five on the plus side of the ledger, Saskatchewan’s growth was the lowest.
Year-to-year, Saskatchewan saw a drop of 18 per cent in January. Five other provinces also experienced declines. Saskatchewan’s was the largest dip. The national average was a drop of 1.2 per cent. Sales in Saskatchewan rang in at about $1.2 billion at the start of the year.
