The Saskatchewan Early Childhood Association is urging the province to close all Early Learning and Child Care programs in the province. It sees this as an aid in mitigating the COVID-19 virus. The association says this action has already been taken in eight other provinces. The association says that, as Canada’s Chief Public Health Officer has stated, the window to flatten the curve is narrow and we all need to act now. The group is also calling for funding, in the face of closures, to ensure the continued viability and economic security of Early Childhood Educator programs and staff.
