Unifor’s Jerry Dias says the ball is in FCL’s court. Unifor Local 594 has been in negotiations with Federated Cooperatives Limited and government appointed mediator Vince Ready to end the 3-and-a-half month lockout. The union’s national president says they aren’t thrilled with the final report or changes recommended but if FCL accepts the recommendations the lockout could soon come to an end.
The Unifor Local 594 bargaining committee has accepted the recommendations and will present them to their members with the expectation they will vote on it March 23rd.
Unifor is Canada’s largest union in the private sector representing 315-thousand workers.
