The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations is calling on the provincial government to close its borders.
In a news release sent out Saturday, the FSIN is calling on Premier Scott Moe to close Saskatchewan’s borders to protect Saskatchewan residents and to decrease the spread of COVID-19.
FSIN Chief Bobby Cameron says some First Nations have already closed their borders and are limiting traffic in and out of their communities.
In the release, Cameron adds that traffic coming in and out of the province continues to put everyone in Saskatchewan at unnecessary risk.
FSIN Executive and staff are continuing to work remotely, 7 days a week amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
