Around 10:30 last night (sun), the Saskatoon Fire Department responded to possible structure fire in Corman Park.
It was reported that a house was filing with smoke and that the lone occupant had self-evacuated, although a cat remained inside.
Once fire crews entered the home to do a search, they suspected the fire was beneath them and they exited due to a the floor being unstable.
Firefighters then determined the fire was burning midway through the home.
The fire was then softened from the outside before crews re-entered. The cat was then saved and was provided with supplemental oxygen.
A cause and damage estimate won’t provided as the fire falls outside of the Saskatoon Fire Department’s investigative jurisdiction.
