Saskatchewan’s NDP Leader had a news conference outside of a grocery store Thursday to call for more help for front line workers.
Ryan Meili called on the province to work with employers to guarantee access to clear physical distancing protocols, adequate protective equipment along with supports like child care so they can do their jobs safely.
He is referring to grocery clerks, pharmacists, cleaners, health care workers and others in essential services.
Meili did note that for most Saskatchewan residents right now their civic duty is to stay home but the basics need to stay up and running and the people making that happen need to be kept safe.
