For the first time since Saskatchewan tracked daily cases of COVID-19, there were more new cases as a result of local, or community transmission than of the travel-related variety on Thursday.
Five of the nine new cases of the novel cornoavirus reported by the province were because of local, or community transmission. The total number of COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan is up to 95.
All cases are confirmed with three people having recovered from the virus. Of the 95 confirmed cases, four concern individuals aged 19 and under, 45 are in the 20-to-44 age range, 32 are in the 45-to-64 range and 14 cases are confirmed in people aged 65-and-over. In addition, 57 per cent of confirmed cases are males with 43 per cent being found in females.
Five of the confirmed cases are in hospital…two in Saskatoon, with one in the Intensive Care Unit and the other three hospital patients in Regina, one in the I-C-U.
So far, 69-hundred-and-15 tests for COVID-19 have been done by the Roy Romanow Provincial Laboratory.
