The Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority has launched a small business emergency continuity grant program.
Phase 1 of the program is designed to support the local economy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Providing grants of up to $5 thousand to small businesses in the Saskatoon region.
S-R-E-D-A President and CEO Alex Fallon says with many businesses uncertain how to keep up with overhead costs and remain operation the SREDA is taking an active role to support businesses, with the hope of continued growth once the pandemic slows.
To be eligible for the grant businesses must operate in the Saskatoon region, be a for profit commercial business, have 10 or fewer employees, including owners and have been in business for more than 6 months but less than 5 years.
Phase 1 has funding for up to $100 thousand, with additional funding possible for a phase 2. The deadline to apply for phase 1 on the SREDA website is April 6th.
