Old man winter has made a return with snow falling and snowfall warnings for parts of Saskatchewan, which in some areas was preceded by freezing rain. Saskatoon was encased in freezing rain before the snow began Tuesday morning and that freezing rain extended south onto Highway 11 where the highway ended up closing while tow trucks commenced clean up.
Brad’s Towing responded to the scene where the owner says he counted about 10 trucks in the ditch thanks to icy roads around Dundurn. Northbound lanes of Highway 11 at Dundurn were closed for several hours to aid in multiple tow truck operators, pulling the trucks out.
