Jennifer Darinchuk with Canadian Blood Services says that so they can adhere to protocols around the COVID-19 pandemic, they are accepting donors by appointment only.

However, even if you have to wait a week or two, they still need you, as much as ever.

Darinchuk points out, there may be fewer people to physically see on the streets but there is ongoing demand, which does not diminish, for those with particular health conditions.

She says they have also made changes within the donor centres to keep donors and staff safe.
