It turns out that the first ticket issued for contravening the COVID-19 Public Health Order to self-isolate is a 23 year old woman who had tested positive for the virus.
The additional information was issued given the circumstances facing all Canadians during the Covid-19 pandemic. The story was initially released yesterday without details of why the woman had received a ticket.
The woman was ticketed $2,800 for not complying with the mandatory 14 day isolation period which is for individuals who have a lab-confirmed case of COVID-19, have been identified as having been in close contact with a person who has COVID-19 or has travelled internationally.
Since the new Saskatchewan Public Health Order was issued on March 26th, and the beginning of April, Saskatchewan RCMP issued one charge for a social gathering of over 10 people.
