Police in Taber, Alberta have charged a local man after getting a complaint last Thursday about a group of four people tampering with products in a local food store by licking the items.
The incident was reported to store management, a license plate was connected to the four people believed involved and a 20 year old man has been charged with Mischief.
Officials believe it was connected to a Tik Tok video in what some call the “COVID Challenge”.
The Police Chief calls it a serious breach of good citizenship in a time of crisis when a reliable and clean food supply is one of the nation’s greatest needs.
The business removed the packaged goods from the shelves and the entire area was santized in keeping with COVID-19 protocols.
