Make-A-Wish Canada wants people to help brighten a child’s day with their social media “Message of Hope” campaign.
Catherine Lunn, Development Coordinator with Make-A-Wish Canada’s Saskatchewan chapter says a lot of kids are already immune-compromised, meaning they have had to postpone a lot of wishes due to COVID-19. Lunn says while kids are waiting for their wishes they are calling for people to bring hope and joy to families who need it the most, asking the community to record a short message of hope using the hashtag #WishesAreWaiting and then tagging @childrenswishfoundation and @makeawishca on social media platforms.
Recently the Children’s Wish Foundation Merged with Make-A-Wish to become Make-A-Wish Canada. The foundation helps approximately 1600 kids with critical illness in Canada each year and around 80 in Saskatchewan.
During the pandemic people can donate to Make-A-Wish on their website.
