Saskatchewan’s total number of cases of COVID-19 has reached 300. Two presumptive cases of the novel coronavirus from Sunday were in Monday’s report by the province.
Of the 300 cases, 118 are considered active…eight of them in hospital. However, none of the eight hospitalized COVID-19 patients are in Intensive Care. To date, fourth deaths from the virus have been reported in Saskatchewan. That leaves 178 people having recovered in the province…14 since Sunday.
Saskatchewan continues to boast of the second-highest rate of testing by province per capita in Canada…with 19,804 COVID-19 tests having been performed.
A breakdown of the 300 coronavirus cases in Saskatchewan shows that 131 are travel-related, 120 cases are from contact or mass gatherings, 27 have no known exposure and 22 cases are under investigation by local public health.
The gender split is 53% male and 47% female.
By region, the breakdown is 147 cases from Saskatoon and area, 65 from the Regina area, 56 cases from the north, 15 from the south, 10 from the central region and seven cases from the far north.
The demographic splits show 129 cases are in the 20-44 age group, 100 people aged 45-64, 50 in the 65-and-over age range and 21 cases involve people aged 19-and-under.
