There was a significant highlight in Saskatoon during Telecommunicators Week when one of Medavie Health Services medical dispatchers helped a woman give birth over the phone. The call came in to Jade Morgan at 7:49 a.m. Tuesday of a 37 year old woman in labour. The birth was imminent so Morgan coached the Dad through the delivery and a health baby girl was born 6 minutes later.
Medavie Director of Public Affairs, Troy Davies says this is just great timing that Jade Morgan was able to help deliver a baby girl over the phone during Telecommunicators Week. Both Mom and baby girl were healthy and taken to Royal University Hospital.
