Saskatoon Police say last Thursday they were called out to the 24-hundred block of Arlington Avenue in Eastview where they were alerted to a man who may have a gun.
A traffic stop was conducted at 9:30 p.m. when a suspect was tracked to the inside of a pick-up truck. Police say they found an open bottle of liquor and the investigation bloomed from there.
In addition to the booze, officers allege that inside the truck there were baggies of methamphetamine and cocaine, cash, an axe, a sledgehammer, four knives, two sawed off rifles, and ammunition. That led to search warrants being executed at a home in the 1000 block of Avenue H North and a storage locker in the 39-hundred block of Wanuskewin Road.
Six more firearms, firearm parts, ammunition and further evidence of drug trafficking were seized.
A 29 year old Saskatoon man is facing over 50 weapons and firearms related charges in addition drug charges, possession of the proceeds of crime and uttering threats.
