The City of Saskatoon is moving to weekly garbage pickup after all. Yesterday, administration said pickup would remain on a bi-weekly basis for the foreseeable future so that close-contact training could be avoided at a time when physical distancing is a priority. City council held a special meeting on Wednesday and directed the city to move to weekly pickup by mid-May. The city says solutions were found to guard the health of workers.
The city will proceed with the seasonal Green Cart Program as scheduled. Collections will begin for applicable routes on May 4th. The opening of the two city Compost Depots will happen at the same time.
