Once again, recoveries out-numbered new, confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan.
Since Wednesday, just one new, confirmed case of the novel coronavirus was reported in the province while Thursday’s update revealed that 14 more people had recovered. Out of 305 cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, 219 people have recovered, 82 cases are considered active and the death toll from the virus remains at four.
The number of COVID-19 patients in the province requiring hospitalization dropped to seven Thursday from eight Wednesday…none of whom are in Intensive Care.
As has been the case for quite a while now, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate of testing for the novel coronavirus continues to be the second-highest among the provinces. The total number of tests on Thursday’s update was 21,569.
The gender split of COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan changed slightly Thursday with 52% being male and 48% female.
The number of health care workers contracting the virus is holding at 34, with not all cases related to health care.
The regional breakdown of the 305 cases in the province (pictured) shows 147 from the Saskatoon area, 68 cases from Regina and area, 58 from the north, 15 cases from the south, 10 from the central regional and seven cases from the far north.
And, the demorgraphic split of the 305 cases in Saskatchewan has 131 in the 20-44 age range, 101 in the 45-64 group, 51 cases in the 65-and-older age range and 22 in the 19-and-under group.
