Pending a ratification vote by their membership, teachers in Saskatchewan have a tentative, new, four-year contract that will give them salary increases of 2.0% in years two, three and four.
Following Wednesday’s meeting between their respective bargaining committees, the provincial government and the Saskatchewan Teachers Federation announced the tentative agreement.
Deputy Premier and Education Minister Gord Wyant pointed out the agreement pays teachers at five per cent above the Western Canada average and provides stability. The ratification vote involves the 13,000 members of the STF.
