The NSBA says it supports the Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan but the Executive Director, Keith Moen, says just as important is that medical advice and regulations are followed to ensure that there is not another spike in cases of COVID-19. The NSBA, says its pleased that the economy can re-open in what organization officials describe as an organized and safe manner.
The Saskatoon and Region Home Builders’ Association says Saskatchewan was well poised to embark on a methodical plan to reopen the province. However, the Association cautions that while restrictions will be gradually lifted over the next several weeks as more types of businesses are allowed to be open, there is still a collective responsibility that the province’s residents need to fulfill, such as continuing to apply social distancing measures and safety protocols.
Officials with the Saskatoon and Region Home Builders’ Association note that it is very much still a possibility progression of the plan will be paused if infection numbers spike. As well, they point out that everyone has an important role to play because no one wants to be known as the industry business or individual responsible for bringing a halt to the reopening of Saskatchewan.
Premier Scott Moe announced the five phase plan Thursday morning saying restrictions will start lifting May 4th, when dentist offices, optometry clinics and physical therapy will be allowed to start seeing more patients. Golf courses will reopen next on May 15th, and on May 19th some retail shops can open their doors.
