Five people are in custody after Saskatoon Police tracked down a stolen Buick Regal around 3:30 this morning at Avenue D and 23rd street. The vehicle, with people reportedly jumping out along the way; on Avenue R North as well as the 25-hundred block of 33rd Street West, didn’t come to rest even after a spike belt was successfully deployed. It finally stopped when forced into a ditch outside of Saskatoon. Loaded firearms, knives, hatchets, bear mace, ammunition, cell phone and drug paraphernalia were all seized. The women, aged 22, and 36 and three men age 25, 26 and 27 are all facing approximately 80 charges which includes weapons charges, evade police and dangerous driving.
