The Unity Fire Department fought a large grass fire Saturday night with help from several surrounding communities and RCMP.

According to the departments Facebook page they were able to control the blaze efficiently and safely and thanked area farmers and ranchers for their help.

On Saturday night Unity RCMP asked the public to refrain from using Highway 21, 16 kilometers south of Unity due to the large grass fire.
