Saskatchewan’s big game draw opens on Friday. Hunters have until midnight May 25th to submit online applications. The province says, given the mild winter, there will be increased hunting opportunities for elk, pronghorn, mule deer, and white-tailed deer. There are six priority pools. The majority of those who qualified for the Legacy pool last year were successfully drawn, and the number of hunters moving from the Super A pool to Legacy pool remains low. The province says the chances of being drawn are very good for those eligible for the Legacy pool.
It’s recommended that applicants use the online residency verification tool to avoid complications. All applications must be completed online. Results will be available through HAL accounts in mid-June, with the exception of pronghorn, which will be available in mid-July. Successful applicants will also be able to purchase licenses through their HAL accounts beginning August 1st.
