Around 10:20 Tuesday night, The Saskatoon Fire Department announced that they had finished fighting a grass fire near Highway 16 north and Range Road 3062. They were first called to it around 2:30 that afternoon. Initially, one fire engine, two water tankers, and two brush trucks were sent out. Throughout the evening, two additional crews were dispatched to provide relief for those initial fire fighters. Around six o’clock last night, a fire break had been set up to stop the spread of the fire. A local farmer helped out with a tractor in controlling the spread. The Fire Department won’t be providing a cause or damage estimate because it happened outside of their jurisdiction.
