Environment Canada is replacing the Bethune weather tower this summer.
The new tower will have the latest forecasting technology, and will double the range of the Doppler radar to 240 kilometres.
Meteorologist Terri Lang says the new tower is almost complete.
“They just have to get up and running and check that all the output is coming out correctly, so it’s hoping to be online by the end of August.”
There is a temporary tower in place, therefore Lang says no systems were missed.
