Even though we are all dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, the provincial election is still scheduled for October 26th.
The government has approved changes to The Election Act Regulations which give the Chief Electoral Officer the authority to do what needs to be done to ensure the election is conducted safely.
Premier Scott Moe says we are all adapting to a ‘new normal’ for carrying on with our lives.
The election will go ahead as planned, but it may look a little different.
Ensuring good physical distancing practices for voters and Elections Saskatchewan workers will be taken into consideration.
Also, after consulting with municipal organizations, the province is delaying this year’s resort village elections from July 25th to August 29th.
