The federal government is pumping $2.3 million into Northwestern Saskatchewan to combat COVID-19. The money will support the North West Saskatchewan Pandemic Response Unit. That’s a collective effort between First Nation, Metis, municipal, provincial, and federal partners. The money is to be used to support security checkpoints, address food security, home care supplies, and enhancement of regional and community capacity. The government says the funding will build on the financial support and Personal Protective Equipment being supplied by Indigenous Services Canada.
