The remains of a teen, long-missing in Saskatchewan, have been found, according to a Facebook post by a family member.
The sister of Cody Wolfe, Amber Wolfe, says after 9 long years, it’s been confirmed that Cody has officially been located.
“It’s not the ending I was hoping for but the wondering has now come to an end. I’d like to thank Lloyd Goodwill and the search team from CTK who has helped us for so many years and people from surrounding reserves and Muskowekwan who took the time to come and help search over the 9 years.”
Amber Wolfe also sent thanks to Kim Cooper and her team, Punnichy Police and also Major Crimes.
Saskatchewan RCMP say kids paddling a boat, out looking for geese eggs on the Muskowekwan First Nation last Thursday found human remains on a small island.
An autopsy was completed on May 13th by a Forensic Pathologist and Anthropologist and the remains were confirmed as that of Cody Ridge Wolfe who went missing April 29th, 2011.
Investigators say Wolf may have gotten lost while walking along washed out grid roads in cold temperatures.
The Saskatchewan RCMP say that since Cody went missing there have been many searches conducted on foot, horseback, boat and ATV by the family, the Muskowekwan First Nation community and the RCMP.
Investigators say the area where Cody was discovered was surrounded by water and had become submerged intermittently over the years, with the water level remaining high, and only recently became exposed.
