The commanding officer of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds is at a loss for words.
Lieutenant-Colonel Mike French spoke at 15 Wing Moose Jaw Monday as the base and a nation mourns the loss of Captain Jennifer Casey.
Casey and Captain Richard McDougall were in the Snowbird jet that fell out of the sky into a Kamloops BC home on Sunday just after taking off from that city’s airport. McDougall is listed in serious condition in hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening
French says that safety is obviously priority number one for his team, but something went tragically wrong…
Seven pilots and one member of the public have been killed since the Snowbirds started flying in 1971.
Last year, a pilot escaped unharmed after an incident at an event in Georgia.
