Around five o’clock Tuesday afternoon, multiple 9-1-1 calls came in to the Saskatoon Fire Department about a grass fire near Highway 16 East and Market Drive. Then a second fire, believed to be associated with the first, was spotted about 1.5 kilometers away. A fire engine, a water tanker, and a brush truck were sent out. Both fires were contained and, as of about seven o’clock Tuesday evening, crews were still there putting out hot spots. There have been no reported injuries and no structures were at risk.
