Wholesale merchants sales rose in Saskatchewan by 6.4 per cent, February to March. Statistics Canada says only Prince Edward Island was higher and that was only marginally at 6.5 per cent. Across Canada, there was an average decline of 2.2 per cent. Compared to the same month a year ago, Saskatchewan was off by 6.6 per cent. Nationally, the decline was 0.3 per cent. Of the provinces, six reported going into negative territory. Total sales in Saskatchewan in March was about $2.25 billion.
