Saskatoon City Council will consider a new Official Community Plan tonight at it’s Public hearing at 6 p.m.
The city’s strategic plan of for 2018-2021 guided the priorities of City Council to the development of the Official Community Plan and will focus on planning for the city’s expected growth to half a million people in the next 20 to 30 years.
It will also have plans for the future of the city centre which includes a proposed entertainment district. Culture, active transportation, heritage, green infrastructure strategy, and recreation and parks are cited as being part of this plan as well.
City Council will also meet at 1pm for their regular business meeting where highlights, among others, will include a strategic facilities plan for the Saskatoon Fire Department and an update on a pilot program regarding mobile food trucks operating near neighbourhood parks.
