Saskatoon residents will have to wait a little longer for a long term plan dealing with the physical, environmental, economic, social and cultural developments of the city.
City Council is deferring a proposed Official Community Plan until their next meeting in June.
The plan includes documents for things like a culture plan, a plan for city population growth and a city centre plan that includes a proposed entertainment district.
Leslie Anderson, Director of Planning and Development for the City of Saskatoon requested the deferral to communicate with the city’s stakeholders and make sure the community plan is complete.
The city s strategic plan of for 2018-2021 guided the priorities of City Council to the development of the Official Community Plan and will focus on planning for the city s expected growth to half a million people in the next 20 to 30 years.
