If allowed by the Provincial Capital Commission, a group wants to protest a decision to temporarily close a dozen emergency rooms in rural Saskatchewan at the provincial legislature.
The decision by the Saskatchewan Health Authority because of COVID-19 has some wondering if these temporary closures are leading to permanent ones.
Carnduff town Councillor Kris Carley is part of a Facebook group trying to organize the rally—one he hopes can be done despite the limitations on public gatherings right now.
Carley says the government needs to know how poor of a decision this was. He says they feel the closures were premature, given the low numbers of COVID right now.
The province says they have heard the concerns of those in and around affected communities and that a plan will be announced, likely on Tuesday, as to when services will be restored.
