A 911 call about a house on fire sent Saskatoon Fire Department crews to the 100 block of Avenue O South around 2:30 Wednesday morning. What they found was a fire at the rear of the boarded-up structure, which had moved up towards the attic; and, extending into a residential garbage bin. Crews also had to deal with an arcing power line which forced them to retreat and reposition to continue the attack. It took about 50 minutes from the time of the notification of the incident until the fire was put out. No one was inside the building. There were no injuries. The cause was arson and the damage estimate is about $30 thousand.
