The provincial government has announced $17 million in construction projects at post-secondary institution in Saskatoon, Regina and Moose Jaw. Griffiths Stadium at USask will see the field expanded to accommodate soccer and rugby, energy efficient lighting added, and stadium turf replaced that will meet accreditation. That’s valued at $3.1 million. Another $2.5 million will cover roof replacement at the University of Regina’s College of Kinesiology and $12 million for renovation to several Saskatchewan Polytechnic buildings in Moose Jaw. The investments are part of the province’s $7.5 billion two-year capital stimulus package that was announced May 6th. Work is expected to begin this year with all projects completed by the spring of 2022. The work at Griffiths isn’t expected to begin until next spring.
