The Saskatoon Fire Department says investigations are underway into seven different fires now being attributed to arson.
Four are fires involving houses, one was a deck fire at a home that had been the scene of a fire in the past, one was a shed and one was a garage. Six of the seven fires resulted in approximately 76 thousand dollars in damage while the seventh in the 16-hundred block of Avenue C North is estimated at 300 thousand dollars. There were no injuries in any of the fires.
One fire occurred May 15th, one on May 20th, two more on the night of May 21st and three more on May 23rd.
However, in the case of a fire in the 300 block of Avenue S fire, crews encountered an occupant who they say was uncooperative, threatening, and who refused to vacate the property. The Police Department had to be called in to remove the person.
