Instead of music resonating through nature at Beaver Creek, the Prairie Spirit School Division’s music conference for Grades 7 to 12 students will resonate online.
The second half of the 4-day interactive conference begins on Wednesday.
Learning Superintendent, Dave Carter, says the Resonate Music Conference includes presentations, workshops with professional musicians, songwriters, conductors and clinicians.
The event has always been free with students from around the province joining in, but because it is online this year, participants have signed up from across the country and into the U.S.
Carter says no experience is necessary.
The goal of the conference is to provide a picture of what it could be like to make a living in music or to have music in your life.
It helps open up the opportunities for interested students.
With supplemental learning during the pandemic, Carter believes music students have been highly engaged because many are passionate about it, and it’s something you can do while you are staying home.
He invites Grades 7 to 12 students to sign up.
