The Leader of the Saskatchewan NDP says he was shocked and disappointed by a social media post from a communications advisor with the SaskParty government.
Ryan Meili says it was derogatory and racist to Chinese people.
A screen shot of a text exchange about eating dogs in China was posted to Alyssa Lieppi’s Instagram account.
A spokesperson for the provincial government says, “The contents of this post do not reflect the views of the Government of Saskatchewan, our policies, or our employees. Executive Council Human Resources has raised this inappropriate social media activity with the employee, and are ensuring that proper disciplinary and corrective measures are taken.”
