Lloydminster RCMP responded to numerous 911 calls on Saturday night about a semi driving erratically.
Police were told the truck was speeding, driving in the opposite lane and forcing other vehicles off the road.
While attempting to intercept the driver, officers were dispatched to an accident where a semi crashed into a home.
Witnesses said a man fled to a nearby apartment building.
Officers from Lloydminster, Kitscoty, and Maidstone RCMP, along with Saskatchewan Highway Patrol and RCMP Police Dog Services were involved in the pursuit.
The vehicle was stolen from a farm north of Lloydminster in the Maidstone RCMP jurisdiction.
A 37 year old Lloydminster man has been charged in both Alberta and Saskatchewan with a total of 20 charges including dangerous driving, assault of a peace officer with a weapon, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5-thousand.
