Part 1 of phase 4 of the Reopen Saskatchewan Plan takes effect today, and sees the reopening of youth and child day camps, outdoor pools, splash pads and outdoor activities.
The limit on gathering increases to 30 people, and team sports will also resume play, but teams will not be allowed to participate in tournaments or travel interprovincially.
The second half of Phase four will include indoor pools, rinks, libraries, museums, galleries, movie theatres and casinos but a date for that has yet to be announced.
Saskatoon Phase 4.1
While the Re-Open Saskatchewan plan is being introduced in phases, the City of Saskatoon is following suit with stages of opening when it comes to leisure, recreation and sports facilities.
Monday, the City’s 150 free-of-charge sports fields will be open while rental facilities will resume on July 1st with the exception of full contact sports as laid out by provincial guidelines.
The city is targeting Friday, for the opening of spray pads while the Riversdale and George Ward outdoor pools are slated to be open in the first week of July. The Lathey and Mayfair outdoor pools have yet to have their opening date determined.
The Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo is also looking at a first week of July opening.
The 28 locations for play program and paddling pools is hopeful of opening in mid-July at the latest. When the Re-Open Saskatchewan plan’s Phase 4.2 is ready to come on-line, so will the opening of Lakewood Civic Centre and the Shaw Centre. The City of Saskatoon has yet to determine when the remaining leisure centres will open.
Prince Albert Phase 4.1
Starting today (Monday), the City of Prince Albert will open the front counter in the main floor of City Hall to the public for bill payments and other regular transactions.
Visitors to city hall will be screened for COVID-19 and given temperature checks as well as provided with hand sanitizer.
Bus passes will be sold at regular rates at City Hall or vendors in the city.
While many outdoor activities are being included across the province in Phase 4.1,
Prince Albert is currently assessing the feasibility of opening the Kinsmen Water Park, Spray Parks and Outdoor Fields, an update will be made in the near future.
No dates have been given for indoor recreation, arts and culture facilities as they are apart of Phase 4.2.
