Two road safety initiatives by the RCMP on Saturday have led to two men being arrested for impaired driving.
The first initiative took place south of North Battleford on Highway #4 and focused on speeding vehicles. The second initiative was an impaired driving checkpoint that was north if North Battleford on Highway #4. In total 39 speeding tickets were issued, 23 warnings were gives out, 5 vehicles were impounded and 2 men were arrested for impaired driving.
Two other drivers received roadside suspensions, one for alcohol impairment, the other for drug impairment.
The RCMP encourages anyone who witnesses impaired or aggressive driving to call 911 or their local RCMP detachment.
