The Saskatoon Fire Department says multiple 911 calls rolled in around 7:39 a.m. Tuesday morning from the city’s Eastview neighbourhood after a house in the 200 block of East Place caught fire.
The home is described as large with exterior cedar siding and cedar roof shakes. When fire crews arrived they could see the house had been on fire and thanks to a contractor building a fence on-site, the fire was put out using buckets of water and a garden hose.
No one was injured and the fire investigator has determined the fire was accidental from an electrical outlet on the outside of the home. Damage is estimated at 20 thousand dollars and the fire is not related to work being conducted by the contractor.
