The provincial government is preparing to deploy small modular nuclear reactors by establishing an office to coordinate nuclear policy and programing. Environment Minister Dustin Duncan says the deployment of the reactors will require collaboration with several partners. He says, “Clean nuclear energy will provide Saskatchewan the tools to fight climate change.” Small reactors can produce electricity in the range of 50 to 300 megawatts.
