100 graduating high school students in 72 communities across the province have received Saskatchewan Youth Apprenticeship Industry Scholarships worth $1,000 each. They are issued within two years of graduation, only once the recipient demonstrates they are actively pursuing a career in the skilled trades. They must also finish the SYA program which exposes students to opportunities in the skilled trades. The scholarship program was launched in 2009 and is overseen by the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission.
