Quebec and Atlantic Canada are receiving over 46 million dollars from the federal government to help out their damaged tourism industries.
Gene Makowsky, Saskatchewan’s minister of parks, tourism and sport, wants equal consideration for the rest of Canada.
He says it’s outrageous that the federal government is applying the support unequally.
Makowsky says it should be an equitable program based on population. He says our tourism industry has been affected by COVID-19 and we should see equatable funding.
Minister Makowsky has sent a letter to Federal Minister of Economic Development Melanie Joly to state his concerns on the matter.
