A Regina man is in custody after Police say he was spotted with a large knife strapped to his chest.
On Saturday, police say a man with a large knife in a sheath and a back pack was spotted in the 2900 block of 5th Avenue. He was arrested and police found the man to be on a probation order with a condition to not possess any weapons, including knives. A further search found the man’s backpack allegedly contained ammunition, improvised firearms (zip guns), firearm parts, tools and drugs.
Twenty-three year-old Dallen Desjarlais has been charged with:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance
- Carrying Concealed Weapon
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Weapons Trafficking
- Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited Weapon
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 2
- Possession of a Weapon
- Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
Desjarlais is scheduled to make his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on Monday at 09:30 a.m.
